The machine

01What exactly do you deliver?

A machine assembled and tested in Switzerland, the software that runs open models on your own documents, and the service around it: on-site installation, three-year warranty, support in French and German, audit log, annual report.

It is not a box dropped in a room. Installation, operation and model updates are on us.

02Why not buy the hardware ourselves?

You can. The hardware is not the point: the bill of materials is published, part numbers included, nothing in it is secret.

What you buy from us is the rest: integration burned in under load for 72 hours, models chosen and updated, access rights taken from your own system, the audit log, and someone to call when it stops. Assembling the machine takes a week; keeping it running takes three years.

03Which machine do we need?

It is not decided on headcount but on peak: how many people use the tool at the same time, and for what kind of work. Searching documents costs little; drafting costs more; analysing a full file costs most.

The configurator applies exactly that calculation and gives you the reference, the disk space and the electrical circuit you need.

04What happens when models change, or a better one appears?

We update models quarterly, on our own initiative, on the machine, with nothing for you to schedule. You do not change vendor when the state of the art moves: what changes is what is inside the machine.

The rankings published on the Proof page are re-collected each quarter, with their date and source.

05How long between order and go-live?

About two months. We build in batches and we do not buy GPUs without a signed order — that is what the lead time is, and we would rather show it than work around it.

On-site installation then takes two to five days depending on how many sources have to be connected.

Your data

06What leaves the building?

Technical telemetry: hardware status, temperatures, installed versions, system errors. No document content, no user query, no fragment of an answer.

The annual proof report documents that flow line by line. It is that document, not a sales promise, that answers the question in an audit.

07Doesn't a Swiss cloud do the same thing?

A data centre located in Switzerland says nothing about the entity operating it. If the parent company falls under a foreign law, an order can reach the data without going through a Swiss procedure.

So the useful question is not “where are the disks” but “who can be compelled, before which court”. A machine on your premises closes that question: there is nobody else to compel.

08How are access rights handled?

The machine applies the rights you already have. If someone has no access to a folder in Microsoft 365, they have no access to it through the machine either.

We open no new access and create no parallel directory: the source of truth stays yours.

09Do you connect to the machine? What do you see?

Only on a support session that you open, and only on the control plane: services, system logs, configuration.

The data plane — your documents, the index, the query history — is unreachable from that session by construction, not by undertaking. Every session is logged on both sides.

10What happens to the index if we stop?

Everything is on the machine, and the machine is yours. If the service contract ends, you keep the hardware, the installed models and the index: what stops is our monitoring, our updates and support.

There is no licence that expires and turns the whole thing into a brick.

The money

11Why an investment rather than a subscription?

A per-seat subscription grows with you and leaves nothing behind. A machine goes on the balance sheet, depreciates and keeps a residual value.

The Investment page shows the crossover point for your headcount, with every assumption displayed and adjustable. Depending on the case the crossover comes quickly, or never: we would rather you saw that before signing.

12Is the published price the final price?

The machine price is computed from the actual bill of materials: it moves when a component moves, and it is shown with its options.

On top come the annual service and, where there are several machines, installation of the extra units. The configurator adds it all up and the quote carries the same lines.

13Do you offer leasing?

Yes, on the machine alone, over thirty-six months. The service stays billed annually: it has no collateral value and therefore does not belong in a lease.

The monthly figure is shown next to the cash price on each machine page.

14Is there a minimum term?

Thirty-six months on the service. The reason is plain: the hardware warranty, the loaner unit and the model updates require us to provision parts and engineering time over that period.

The machine itself is bought: it is yours from delivery.

The service

15What happens if the machine fails?

A loaner unit is on site within twenty-four hours and takes over during the repair. The warranty covers parts and labour for three years.

Your data does not travel with the failed machine: the index is rebuilt on the loaner from your own sources, which never moved.

16In which languages does support answer?

French and German, business days, answer within eight working hours. You speak to an engineer, not to a first line that forwards the ticket.

17Do we need an IT team to run it?

No. Hardware monitoring, model updates and patches are on us, on our initiative.

What you need is one person who knows your document sources and your access groups, for the installation. After that, nothing.

18What is the annual proof report?

A document issued every year establishing what left the machine over the period, which interventions took place, which versions were installed and when.

It exists for one precise reason: when an auditor or a client asks you where the data went, a sales sentence is not enough. A dated document is.

19Do you have references we can call?

Not yet. Deployments are in progress and no publication agreement is signed: that is why the cases on this site are anonymised and carry no measured outcome.

We would rather say so than manufacture a reference. What we can do instead: a demonstration on your own documents, under a confidentiality agreement.
