01 — THE SITUATION
What was not working, before us.
Medical secrecy is not negotiable, and the clinic processes health data under the revised FADP: the strictest regime, with a mandatory impact assessment before any new processing.
Yet the needs are basic: find a prior condition in a hundred-page record, prepare a discharge letter, summarise a protocol. None of them justifies sending a patient record outside.
02 — THE DECISION
What was chosen, and why.
The machine sits in the server room on a 16 A circuit, with the electronic patient record as its only source. Access rights are those of the existing system: through the machine, a clinician sees only what they already see.
The audit log is the decisive element here, ahead of performance: it answers, record by record, “who consulted what, when” — a requirement of the impact assessment, not a comfort.
