Production know-how searchable in house, without handing it to your competitors' vendor.

Machining routings, control plans, non-conformance reports, qualification files: a Swiss industrial SME keeps its margin in documents nobody should be able to read. Manufacturing secrecy is protected by criminal law — provided you have not sent it out yourself.

What the law requires of you.

Whoever reveals a manufacturing or commercial secret they are bound to keep is liable, as is whoever exploits it. Protection ends once the information has been made accessible.

Our technical documents are in German and English, and highly specialised. Can a general model read them?

It does not know them, and it does not need to: the machine does not answer from memory, it reads your documents at question time and cites the passage. That is exactly what a public service does not do — it answers from what it learned elsewhere, which, on an in-house routing, yields a plausible and wrong answer.
